I am a PhD candidate working with Dr. Oliver Sonnentag. I entered the PhD program in 2017 after I completed my MSc degree in hydrology at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Under the supervision of Dr. Oliver Sonnentag, my PhD research focuses on modelling the CO2 balance of North America’s boreal forests. Specifically, I aim to improve estimates of boreal forest net ecosystem productivity using the Canadian Land Surface Scheme Including Biogeochemical Cycles (CLASSIC). The focus of these efforts is on improving soil moisture and temperature simulations by constraining model performance with eddy covariance and supporting observations.
